Upon your arrival at Delhi, our tour manager will welcome you and drive you to Haridwar. The journey takes around 4.5 hours and is loved for its scenic views. Check into the hotel and spend some time relaxing. Haridwar translates to "The Gateway to Vishnu," as this is where pilgrims start their Char Dham yatra. Interestingly, Shaivites call this place Hardwar, as Har means Shiva, while Vaishnavites call it Haridwar, with Hari meaning Vishnu. The most auspicious place in Haridwar is the Har ki Pauri, which is believed to be the Ganges' exit point from the mountains. From here, the Ganges enters the plains. It is called the Brahma Kund, as legend has it that this is where a drop of amrit fell on earth when Garuda was carrying the Elixir of Eternal Life after Sagar Manthan, or the Churning of the Ocean.
